My Environment

Every week in the year 6 building, there is a tormenting smell wafting in from the kitchen. The year 6s are separated into four groups and each take it in turns to participate in our My Environment program. So far they have successfully cooked up fruit salad, ANZAC biscuits, pasta sauce, scrambled eggs, pancakes and fruit smoothies. Amongst one of the groups of girls, the pasta sauce was the most popular. The garden is growing well, the students started to plant the seedlings at the end of last term and they are making good progress. In the garden there is a large variety of herbs and vegetables. The Kitchen Garden program is quickly expanding and is only going to get bigger and better. This program teaches children to grow their own food and use it well in their cooking. The students are having lots of fun in this program and so are the teachers who pass by and get the chance to taste the delicious food.
